TOTTA’S ECO-FRIENDLY “COMMON COURTESY” PROMISE
Part of our “Common Courtesy” promise is to respect your home by maintaining a safe environment for your family and ours and that goes far beyond the “golden rule”. Installing or refinishing hardwood flooring can be a messy job with sanding and staining, which can really affect your home’s air quality. To minimize dust and fumes, we only use non-toxic products and treatments in our standard finishing process.
ECO-FRIENDLY ENVIRONMENT DURING SERVICE
At Totta Hardwoods, ensuring your safety is extremely important to us. We take pride in making sure that the air quality inside the home is clean and safe for everyone breathing it in. Totta Hardwoods focuses on two main clean air promises.
- Minimize Dust
- Minimize Fumes

Minimize Dust
How do we do it? We use high-powered vacuums to collect dust during the sanding process. This ensures that the rest of the home stays clean while we are working on your flooring. We can never guarantee that there won’t be lingering dust, but we certainly do everything in our power to help minimize it. Indoor air quality is very important to the health of our customers and our employees, which is why we take this so seriously. For most homeowners, a little dust here and there won’t really bother your lungs, but for our employees, we try to keep a safe work environment that doesn’t have long-term health effects. This becomes a two-bird-one-stone solution for us to take it very seriously to keep our work environments clean for you and clean for us.
Minimize Fumes
In order to minimize fumes, Totta Hardwoods is GreenGuard Air Certified! If products are GreenGuard certified, they are scientifically proven to meet some of the most difficult chemical emissions standards, reducing indoor air pollution and lowering the risk of chemical exposure. This means that the air within the home is safe to breathe in while the hardwood is being installed. For many hardwood flooring contractors out there, this, unfortunately, isn’t a super high concern as many rely on doors and windows to fan away the dangerous fumes. But at Totta, we use specific chemicals that are safe for human interaction.
