I had used Totta before for refinishing an existing wood floor and replacing carpeted areas in and adjacent to my kitchen remodel project. They did a fine job then and I looked forward to hiring them again, this time to replace another significant area consisting of the master suite, and the stairwell up to that floor. The work was done neatly and with great craft. The technicians were very particular and when there were choices to make they got me involved. I saw exactly what I had seen in the "flat" floor work they had done in the earlier project, but the stairwell reconstruction was novel and I had no idea how precise and particular they would be. The stairs and "balustrade" (a new word which includes the banister, and support balusters, now a part of my vocabulary) are beautiful, but as importantly, although they are solid oak, they are rock solid -- no squeaks, creaks, no give whatsoever. I enjoy things being nice, and things being solid, and I will appreciate living with them, but I cannot deny that I believe these improvements enhance the value of my 45 year old (and 45 year occupied) family home. So the payoff is admittedly aesthetic but eventually also, to a degree, financial.

We are very happy with Totta Hardwoods. We first met with Mike to share our vision of what we wanted and a few photos. We learned that what we liked was a machine-scraped texture - and that is done before hardwood floors are put into place. But our hardwood floors were installed 10 years ago. Mike developed a plan to mimic what we wanted with hand-scraping. He worked up a sample board for our review with our requested color. Abdel and his crew are master craftsmen who executed that vision perfectly. They were punctual, polite, and professional. Abdel always updated us in the morning, throughout the day, and at the close of each day about what was going to be done, how things were going, and what was done. We knew our floors were in good hands. The end result was spectacular - a one-of-a-kind masterpiece.

Totta stripped and refinished our white oak floors, rebuilt some damaged flooring, and installed a handrail for the stairs. We are very happy with the results and highly recommend Totta Hardwoods. Cody and Abdel were professional, personable, and skilled.

Totta Hardwoods refinished original redwood and whitewood hardwood floors in 3 rooms in our home and installed new oak hardwood floors in an adjacent room. I interviewed several companies before contracting with them. Their professionalism, preparation, quality of work, attention to detail, and responsiveness were top notch--second to none. Every step of the process was explained to us in detail ahead of time. The follow-through and follow-up service was outstanding. I appreciate working with a local, family-owned business and their personal involvement in every phase of the project. I interacted with many of the employees throughout the process, who were all excellent, skilled at every level and great to work with. I highly recommend Totta Hardwoods and will be using them again for any other hardwood floor work.

Was a very good experience all around. From the initial walkthrough with Mike to our installer, Alex, we were very pleased. Work was excellent, always on time, courteous, and finished on time for a reasonable price. Paid for quality, for sure, but worth the job getting done right.
